Korean Coupang creative needs a layout engine because localizing a listing changes the shape and meaning of the asset, not only the language. A translation layer can produce Korean copy; a layout-aware production system must place that copy, preserve measurement context, validate real product imagery, and assemble the result into a Coupang-shaped image set.
A layout engine treats Korean copy, SKU facts, measurements, product images, and channel slots as inputs to composition. Translation is one input; it is not the finished creative.

Translation changes the layout
An English source design carries assumptions about line length, hierarchy, spacing, and where a product image can sit beside copy. Translating the words does not remove those assumptions. Korean copy can create different line breaks, text density, and visual balance, so a design that was tidy in English can become cramped, empty, or difficult to scan after localization.
That does not necessarily mean the Korean translation is wrong. It means the composition treated language as a finished overlay instead of a variable input. If the only correction available is to shrink the type, cut useful product information, or ask someone to manually move every text box, the production process is solving the problem too late.
Hangul therefore needs to be considered when typography and section structures are selected. The system should be able to accommodate Korean copy without forcing every SKU into an English-designed template. A short product description, a dense specification section, and a visual feature explanation may need different amounts of space even when they occupy the same position in the source content.
That is the same reason a localized Korean PDP is a design problem, not a translation problem, especially when the same production logic must work across several SKUs. The goal is not to make every Korean asset look identical. The goal is to make the decisions behind each asset repeatable.

A variable composition system makes Korean repeatable
One fixed master template is attractive because it appears efficient. In practice, it transfers the difficult work to the end of the process: each SKU needs manual adjustments when its copy, images, or product facts do not fit the same visual pattern. A variable composition system takes a different approach. It keeps the production rules consistent while allowing the section structure and visual treatment to change with the content.

A brand can keep a coherent visual system across a range while avoiding the manual redrawing that a single rigid layout tends to require.
Variable does not mean random. It means the system can choose among known structures and treatments while keeping the relationship between product facts, Korean copy, imagery, and the channel output under control. That distinction matters for a brand preparing several SKUs: consistency comes from shared production logic, not from copying one layout until it stops fitting.
Measurements are content, not decoration
A translation layer can preserve a string such as dB, W, V, ㎡, or inches and still fail to preserve what the measurement is doing in the design. A number separated from its label or product context may be technically present but difficult to interpret. In localized creative, units need to remain attached to the product information they describe.
Those units carry different kinds of meaning. dB can describe a sound-related specification; W and V can be part of an electrical product specification; ㎡ communicates area; and inches can describe a physical dimension. The visual treatment should not turn these into isolated decorative marks. It should present the unit and its associated information as a readable product fact.
The production system recognizes these measurements as meaningful units in localized creative. That is a small-looking distinction with practical consequences. It helps keep product information grouped correctly when the section structure changes, and it gives the composition layer a better understanding of what must remain together when Korean copy is placed around it.
Recognition is not permission to rewrite a specification. The underlying fact still comes from the approved SKU information. The layout layer’s job is to preserve that fact and give it an appropriate visual relationship to the surrounding copy and product image.
Factual content and creative treatment need separate layers
Product facts and creative treatment answer different questions. Factual content says what the SKU is and what it does: the approved product information, measurements, and other details that must remain accurate. Creative treatment decides how those facts are presented: typography, section structure, visual hierarchy, image arrangement, and the selected composition.
Keeping those layers distinct prevents a design decision from quietly becoming a product claim. It also makes revisions more controlled. If the visual treatment changes, the factual source does not need to be reinterpreted as a new product description. If a product fact changes, the production input can be corrected without treating the layout itself as the source of truth.
The image pipeline applies the same discipline to imagery. Required sections are checked for real product imagery, rather than treating any visually similar object as an acceptable substitute. That matters when several variants share a family appearance: a polished tile can still be wrong if it shows the wrong product representation.
This is the operational principle behind keeping Coupang creative true to each SKU. A localized image set should be visually considered, but it should also remain anchored to the SKU information that was approved for production.
A translated sentence is not automatically approved creative. Keep the product information fixed as the factual source, then use the composition system to express it without substituting generic or unverified product imagery.

A Coupang image set is not a translated source page
Even a well-composed Korean source page may not be the right deliverable for Coupang. A single source page does not map cleanly to a channel-specific image set, because the output needs to be assembled around Coupang’s image structure rather than treated as one long translated canvas.
The Coupang-specific output includes one representative image and up to nine additional 1:1 tiles. The representative image and the square tiles are therefore part of one package, but they are not interchangeable assets. Each needs to work within its own visual shape while contributing to the same product story.
This is why simply shrinking or cutting a long source page is not enough. The composition system has to know that the channel output is a set of individual images, select appropriate section treatments, and preserve product facts as those sections are distributed across the assets. A layout engine is useful here because it composes for the destination instead of asking the destination to absorb the source format.
The distinction also clarifies what “complete” means. It does not mean adding more copy to a page. It means producing a coherent, Coupang-shaped set that can be reviewed and exported together. - Is the expected output a representative image plus the required square tiles, with the disclosure file included at export?
That checklist is the difference between translating a page and preparing a usable channel asset set. The system handles repeatable composition, but the quality of the result still begins with accurate product inputs and real product imagery.
