"Can I sell any product on Coupang?"
Not every product is suitable for the Korean market due to regulations or practical concerns. We conduct a free pre-screening of your product to ensure it's eligible and viable for selling in Korea.
"Do I need to create a Korean company?"
There are two options: You can create a Korean company or you can use us as your Importer of Record (IOR). If you use our IOR services, you can sell on Coupang without creating a separate Korean LLC.
"What is an Importer of Record(IOR)?"
We as the IOR are basically your 'local partner' that helps you import your goods into Korea on your behalf. Korea's ecosystem is extremely 'closed' and you cannot import goods into Korea without an importer (unless you create your own Korean company and act as your own importer).
"What’s Kontactic’s pricing structure?"
Our fees are clear and transparent. We charge a monthly $200 fixed fee for VAT filings and for acting as your local representative. Also, we charge a 3% commission of monthly sales as your Importer of Record.
"Do I ship my inventory to Coupang's Warehouse?"
Yes. Just like Amazon's FBA program, Coupang has its 'Rocket Growth' program. You ship the goods to Coupang's warehouse and Coupang does its magic.
"How will I get paid from my Coupang sales?"
Kontactic is a licensed IOR service provider listed on Coupang's homepage. We use global payment providers like Payoneer, Pingpong, Lianlian, etc. to process your sales proceeds to you. Coupang's sales proceeds are remitted on a monthly basis, in which we will be forwarding to your payment account within 3 business days upon receipt.
